![]() Mainly for the purpose having more instances available for sequencing than my hardware synths (Minimoog, Arp Odyssey, Super Jupiter MKS80, JD900, Prophet VS, Wavestation.etc) can provide in my Logic Studio/MacPro Quad Core setup. I am looking at analog synth emulation software from U-he and Arturia. ![]() The Xils labs stuff also get a lot of praise for their analog synth emulations, maybe you should take a look at them if you haven't already done so. ![]() I find that one to be very inspiring and musical. GMediamusic/force or whatever they call themselves these days have Minimonsta of course. It's fantastic, and can do analog emulation stuff fairly well, and in my opinion in a much more musical manner than Diva, and with less of that VA gloss. Sure, I have used some Arturia stuff now and then and I think I did use a pad sound from Diva once, but. Neither of them ever seem to end up on any of my tracks, though. There's something about its sound that just bothers me.įunnily enough, the Arturias do kinda inspire me when I play around with them and are more fun than Diva. What happens is, I usually open an instance of Diva, either flick through some presets or start doing something from scratch, and then a few minutes later I just put it away. And something about the sound of it kinda bothers me. I just don't get any ideas when playing around with it, which is not a good sign. That said, it hasn't exactly got a truckload of mojo, and it's not a synth that inspires me. You can hear that it's been put together by some highly competent people. ![]() Diva oozes class when put next to the somewhat subpar (these days, at least) sound of the Arturias.
